Super speed gives Gainsborough businesses more access

Superfast wireless broadband has been set up to boost businesses in the uphill area of Gainsborough.

Speed issues had been highlighted by businesses in this area, so West Lindsey District Council has worked with Quickline Communications to explore new ways to resolve the problem.

The area now has the potential to access high speed wireless broadband.

The wireless broadband technology is simple and works via a small device on the roof of the building. This draws a signal from one of the transmitter sites situated around Lincolnshire.

This has been achieved by installing a new mast at AMP Rose on Heapham Road, which will bridge the connection between the Guildhall at Marshall’s Yard and the industrial estates off Corringham and Heapham Road.

Councillor Jeff Summers said: “We have listened to our business communities and they are telling us slow internet connection is a big issue.

“Improving access to high speed wireless broadband will help support our economy and hopefully provide more jobs.

“By being able to help local businesses build their e-profile and spread their wings over the internet is good news for all of us.”
